Book Bonanza

In many parts of the country, the leaves have turned to radiant hues of gold, red, orange  and yellow, the prelude to their demise. The air already is nippy, as witness the jackets worn by folks in the stands at Major League playoff games.

Soon, it will be too cold to play baseball – and that’s the time to curl up in front of the fireplace with a good, suspenseful mystery or crime novel to get you in the mood for Halloween.

I have just the thing for you. Here it is:

Did you click it? Okay, what came up is not 100 percent clear, and I’m a guy who likes to play the percentages. So let me explain.

If you enter this contest, you will automatically get more than 15 reads: samples, excerpts, novels, whatever. You don’t have to win anything to receive these FREE items. Plus, the contest is FREE to enter. And if you are one of two people to win, you will receive all of the 50-plus books. FREE!

It so happens that my book is among them. It’s titled MURDER IN PALM BEACH: The Homicide That Never Died. Look for the one with the black cover and a gray/beige mansion, lettering in white and red, and a red splotch of blood at the doorstep. It’s a novel based on the real assassination of a prominent Palm Beach citizen in 1976, and reveals – in the thin guise of fiction – who the killer was and, more important, who was behind the deed.

Go ahead and click on the link. Here it is again: You have nothing to lose, and a heck of a lot to gain.

And another thing: Maybe you ought to start stocking up on wood for that fireplace. Because you’ll have a lot of enjoyable reading material, regardless of whether you’re a contest winner.

Happy reading, y’all.
